Rated 3 out of 5 by from How to mount toaster to under cabinet heatshield I believe I have FINALLY figured out how to mount the toaster to the under cabinet heatshield. (See attached picture). The REAR of the toaster hooks onto the rear brackets as everyone seems to know. As for the FRONT hook up, it appears that the "Outer" 2 fixed metal tabs (the ones closest to outside edges of the toaster) fit into the groove and the "Inner" 2 tabs go ON THE TOP edge of the toaster above the groove to create tension which helps to hold it in place. So far, knock on wood, it is holding very securely and has not fallen loose since being installed this way. As the instructions state, you do have to pull the toaster forward to get the two outter clips to rest firmly in the groove. (I also had to bend the inner two tabs up a bit to get them to sit securely with some tension on the top edge toaster over the groove.) A picture is worth a thousand words.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good toast We purchased this unit to replace an older Black and Decker toaster oven mounted under our kitchen cabinet. The mounting system has changed completely and is much harder to work with, but I managed to install the new mount with some difficulty. The toaster per se works fine and has given us no problems.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from not as good as the old ones This is our fourth under the counter toaster oven since 1972. The first three all gave many years of hard (daily) use. I have the same complaints as others: difficulty in making it stay mounted (scoll down to Big Al's explanation of how to deal with that), the fact that no pans are included (we are using our old ones), and one sided, and uneven at that, toasting. It also seems like one setting for toast isn't nearly enough but the next highest number ends up burnt. The need to set a timer for baking is a mixed blessing-it does keep me from burning things because I do not always hear the timer beep. My conclusion - another case of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" and new isn't always an improvement.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Will not stay mounted! I received this toaster oven for Christmas. I had an older model that was around 30 years old. I was looking forward to a newer modern version. The installation was not an issue, however the toaster oven will not stay on the front brackets. The smallest touch makes it fall off of the front brackets. Unfortunately, unless I can find a solution to this problem, I will have to return it!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Problems with overhang cabinets Our old Toast-r Oven went after about 18 years. Bought the TRS 1000. Did my research. The standard video shows easy install in a cabinet with no overhang. I found videos on how to install in an overhang cabinet. Without it, I would not have figured out what to do. Need more illustrations!. BIGGEST PROBLEM, the bolts provided will not work on a cabinet with a 2.5 inch overhang. The provided screws are too small and most stores do NOT carry a 4" version. I am stuck with two options - give up or re-tap the screw holes to use my current 4' screws from the old installation. HELP!!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Lacking from old one. Replaced an older model of the same model with this one. Old one had a broiling tray. New one does not have one nor do I see that one is available as an option. Disappointing. Have to use the tray from the old one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Toaster Oven Won't Stay on Front Bracker We had a previous B&D undercounter toaster oven for years. When it quit working we purchased this model. The toaster oven will not stay on the front bracket. The smallest touch sends it hanging down.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very unhappy Just received and "attempted" to install. Should have read review before ordering. Have had 2 previous models of the spacemaker toaster over. Installed them myself and they gave me years of use. I cannot get the toaster over properly seated into the hood. Booklet is inaccurate and does not include necessary pictures/diagrams of steps. Very unhappy....will return if cannot find solution. Toaster over is currently "hanging" by its back hooks.

The manual says not to "install" it to a horizontal surface under the unit, but since it has feet, can it just sit on my counter if I don't have under-cabinet space? Thanks.
