Rated 1 out of 5 by from Mounting system is horrible!!!!!!!!! I just bought this Spacemaker toaster oven. Had more issues with the installation of the mounting hood than there should have been. Powered thru the install of the hood anyway. Mounted the toaster oven to the hood using the recommended method. Everything looked good...until I pushed one of the buttons on the front and the toaster and the oven fell from the hood! It scratched the wall and nearly damaged my countertop. After this first attempt I put the oven back in the hood. I then put modest pressure on the unit...and it fell down again! The mounting system is very poorly designed. I wondered why an under cabinet toaster oven would have "feet" mounted to the bottom...now I know. They are there because the mounting system doesn't work.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Difficult to install! I had a previous model that I really loved. It was time for an upgrade after many, many years of great use out of my old model. This was super difficult to install. The longest bolt wasn't long enough, I bought a longer one that ended up too long. It was hard to mount the toaster once it was up. It slips out of the mounting bracket too easily. I made sure the new bolt didn't hinder the toaster and that was just fine. It's not very secure when mounted. I wish I had saved the spacers from my older oven. I was also disappointed that it didn't come with an oven baking tray. My old one came with a baking tray :( I do like the features of this one if I didn't like the features it would have gotten a one. Please fix the mounting problems! I do usually like black and decker products. I have a drill that has been getting a workout since I moved into my new place, love it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bigger than my old one, trickier to install. Before I get started, let me stress, read the manual. once you learn how to use it the oven is awesome. The heat shield is harder because it's deeper. My cabinet has a 3/4 inch lip, so you will need a 3 inch bolt, the longest they supply is 2 1/4 inch. bolt. They have the bolts in accessories or you can get them at the hardware store. Once you drill the holes to hang the heat shield you will need the extensions in the back but not the front. I used super glue to glue them together then a small piece of masking tape to hold it to the bolt. Start the back bolts first in the back then the front so you can see what your doing. When hanging the oven you have to hang the front hooks first then the back. I used a mirror and a bright light to see the hooks in the back. Kind of tricky but worth the bigger oven.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Frustrated- Can't get Toaster over hooked We are unable to get the toaster over to grab the clips in the front. We held the feet and lifted up and pushed at same time as stated in in the instructions. It has been very frustrating. Tried many times. Finally got it hooked and it fell down.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Disappointed! I had a previous version of the space maker toaster oven that lasted for years. It was easier to install & to operate than this version. This new version is hard to install and doesn't stay hooked. It has come loose twice. I took it down yesterday and went through the instructions again but it was installed properly. I also don't think it is as easy to operate as the old one.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Difficult Installation I bought this unit as a replacement for a 25 year old Black & Decker Spacemaker that was still working. The old one was still serving us well but was showing some wear. Installation went smoothly until it was time to mount the hood and then things went south quickly. My cabinet has an overhang that is 1" high so I added the two 1/2" spacers just as the manual calls for. Oops, whoever wrote the manual forgot to account for the extra 3/4" height of the hood. When I add that extra distance, even the longest provided screw is about 1/2" too short. Fortunately I kept the screws from the old oven, but they were about 1/2" too long so I cut them and was able to use them. Getting the rear screws in with 1 3/4" of spacers was next to impossible, but again I was fortunate to have saved the spacers from the old unit. The old ones are designed to grip the screws so you don't need three hands to install the unit. It looks like someone at B&D tried to save a few pennies on the spacers.I've finally got my unit mounted and ready to use. Hopefully I won't experience the problem of the oven coming loose from the hood that others have experienced. Time will tell and I'm hopeful this unit will function better than it installed. I'll give an update later on that.My advice to you: Have someone actually try to follow the directions in the manual before you publish it.
