Mint Shake

for St. Paddy’s Day

We love this creamy, minty ice cream treat on St. Patrick’s Day, but there’s nothing stopping you from enjoying it any time of year! It takes just a quick blend to create, and you’ll be thanking your lucky shamrocks when that first delicious spoonful touches your tongue.

  1. 1 pint mint ice cream (about 2 cups)
  2. ¼ cup half-and-half
  3. ½-1 tsp. peppermint extract (Adjust the amount depending on taste preferences.)
  4. ½ tsp. vanilla extract
  5. 3-4 drops of green food coloring
  6. Whipped cream and green decorating sugar or chocolate sprinkles for garnish


  1. Blend the ice cream, half-and-half, peppermint extract, vanilla extract, and food coloring in a blender until smooth. (TIP: If using the BLACK+DECKER™ Quiet Blender, just press the Shake button for an easy, pre-programmed blend.)
  2. Pour mixture into one or two glasses and garnish with whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles or green decorating sugar.

Note: To make this an adult shake, add ¼ cup Irish cream liqueur and 1-2 Tbsp. crème de menthe liqueur before blending.
