  • Serves:

  1. 1 Tbsp Butter
  2. 2/3 Cup Flour, divided
  3. 1/2 Tbsp Butter
  4. 1 Medium Onion, Thinly Sliced
  5. 1 (3Lb) Round Steak
  6. Salt and Pepper for seasoning
  7. 1/4 Cup Water

  1. In a large bowl, generously season ¼ cup of flour with salt and pepper. Coat both sides of the steak in the seasoned flour.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the oil over high heat. Brown the steaks on both sides, about 30 seconds to a minute depending on thickness.
  3. Place the steaks in the slow cooker.
  4. Turn the heat down to medium-high and add the onion to the skillet. Sauté in the steak dripping until tender, about 4-5 minutes. If the skillet starts to get dry, add the Tbsp. of butter. Add the onions to the slow cooker with the steak.
  5. Add the remaining 6 Tbsp. of flour to the skillet and whisk with the drippings. Add the water and whisk to make gravy. Pour the gravy over the onions and steak.
  6. Place the lid on the slow cooker and cook for 1 hour on high. Turn the slow cooker to low and continue to cook for 4-6 hours on low, or until the meat is tender.
  7. Slice the steak and serve topped with the onions and gravy.
