Rutabaga Mash

Serve fluffy mashed rutabaga alongside your holiday turkey or simply drizzle on the gravy for a fast alternative to a traditional standby any time of year.

Ingredients:

  1. 1 large (4-inch) rutabaga, cut into 1-inch cubes
  2. 3 Tbsp. butter
  3. 1 tsp. fresh ground pepper
  4. 1⁄2 tsp. salt

Directions:

Place cubed rutabaga in large saucepan with enough water to cover. Bring water to boil, cover and reduce heat. Simmer 30 minutes or until rutabaga is tender when pierced with a fork. Drain water.

Mash rutabaga and butter with the Masher Attachment until chunky with some small cubes. Add salt and pepper; stir to blend.

TIP: Make one day ahead and store covered in the refrigerator. Reheat before serving.
