8 Cup Food Processor is rated 2.2 out of 5 by 53.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great from chopping, but not so much for shredding I have been using my food processor for chopping for over a year now. Finally decided to use the shredding disk and just as I got use to it (about 4 months) it broke. I started to shred some cheese and center plastic part of the disk broke. This was upsetting as it happened in the middle of me cooking. I am currently having a hard time finding a replacement shredding disk.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works fine..... Bought ours a while back.....works great! By the way, have always had B&D...read the directions! If it says don't put in dishwasher, then don't. If the cover binds, don't force it, re-read the directions. Plastic will break, don't try to jam food roughly. If that's what you want to do, buy and industrial-sized machine. We have an under-the-counter radio, plus can opener, and have had it for 20 years! Use some common-sense.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cannot believe it ! I was shredding cabbage, all of a sudden the Food processor stops ... the plastic pin that holds the shredder disc has cracked up into 2 pieces. How does that happen in the middle of a process? So disappointed .... bought a black&decker because I had faith in their products.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed I was very disappointed with how loud it was but also the blade doesn't really want to stay in place. Then today we go to use it and the plastic piece that holds the top lid in place broke off so now it's useless to me. The lid almost flew off if we hadn't had a quick response and cut the processor off when we did.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from A bucket of bolts I purchased this FP1700B several months ago and found the motor to be so loud and rattling like a bucket of bolts being spun inside the machine, that I really needed ear protection to use the machine. Just on the off chance that the machine was defective I got another one from my local WalMart, and guess what?- it is exactly the same. I cannot imagine that B&D would put out a product this bad with their name on it. Do not buy this product unless you are deaf.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth the money I used this food processor once and the plastic piece that holds the blade broke. What good is it if you have no blade? I bought the model FP1700B
