Using the Power of Steam

Steaming, a cooking method that uses vapors from boiling water or broth to cook food can be utilized every day in the kitchen. The Black and Decker 7-Quart Food Steamer is designed for versatility and every day use. Whether you’re cooking eggs for salad or rice for dinner, your steamer can tackle almost anything.

Steaming gives food a moist texture as a result of the direct contact the food has with the steam, but not the associated liquids. It keeps veggies crisp and nutrient-packed, too.

The Steamer includes 4-quart and 3-quart steaming baskets, built-in egg holders and a 5-cup rice bowl. Cooking an entire family-sized meal is possible because different courses or dishes can be stacked on top of one another.

Using your steamer is easy. Simply place the food in the baskets, fill the external reservoir with water or broth and set the timer (up to 75 minutes). A signal will beep once food is ready.

Oil is not necessary for steaming. This does not, however, mean boring food. You can cook meals like teriyaki salmon, chili shrimp and steamed pork dumplings. Any grease will fall into the drip tray for easy cleanup. For added taste, use the built-in Flavor Scenter® screen that infuses fish and meats with selected herbs and spices.

This steamer is available now at major retailers nationwide and online.
